We are honored to be part of your special occasion! Our goal is to provide thoughtful, professional alterations and help you feel confident and beautiful in your gown or formalwear.
Please review the following policies carefully before beginning the alterations process.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING SPING/SUMMER/FALL SEASONS,
B. ELLA BRIDAL CAN ONLY ACCOMODATE ALTERATIONS FOR CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE PURCHASED MERCHANDISE THROUGH OUR STORE, AND CANNOT ACCEPT OUTSIDE WORK AT THIS TIME. THANK YOU!
Consultations are available for customers who would like to discuss their garment, fit concerns, and potential alterations with our seamstress.
These fees compensate the seamstress for the professional time spent evaluating, fitting, and pinning the garment.
Most bridal gowns require approximately 3–4+ fittings, generally scheduled about 4 weeks apart. Each appointment is reserved for 1 hour.
The number of fittings depends on the gown's construction, the alterations required, fabric behavior, and changes in fit throughout the process. Additional fittings may be necessary for complex projects.
During the first fitting, our seamstress typically pins the upper portion of the gown and evaluates the overall fit. This may include:
The work pinned and agreed upon during this fitting determines the initial alterations charge. Payment for this work is due at the first fitting and must be received before the seamstress begins sewing on the gown.
Additional work requested after the first fitting may result in additional charges. Any significant additions should be discussed and approved before the additional work proceeds.
During the second fitting, our seamstress typically pins the hem and bustle of the gown.
Payment for the work pinned and agreed upon at this appointment is due at the end of the second fitting.
If the hem requires a significant change, the seamstress may schedule an additional fitting after the hem is completed so the bustle can be pinned accurately.
Additional appointments may be necessary depending on the garment, complexity of the work, fit changes, and progress of the alterations. Please allow adequate time for any additional fittings.
The final fitting is intended to review the completed alterations, try on the gown one more time, and ensure the customer is comfortable with the fit.
We also demonstrate how to put on the gown and fasten the bustle. Customers are encouraged to bring anyone who will assist them with dressing on the wedding day so that person can learn the process.
Customers generally take their gown home after the final fitting unless they have arranged an additional steaming service.
Please bring the following items to each fitting:
Changes to footwear or undergarments can affect the hemline, support, silhouette, and overall fit. We cannot guarantee the same fit if these items change after alterations have begun.
Most bridal gown alterations range from $600–$1,200+, depending on the gown's construction, fabric, number of layers, fit requirements, embellishments, and requested modifications.
Alterations for eveningwear and mother-of-the-bride/groom garments typically range from $200–$600+, depending on the garment and level of work required.
Final pricing depends on the specific work required and agreed upon. These general quotes do not include customization estimates.
Payment is scheduled according to the work pinned and agreed upon at each fitting.
Rush alterations may be accepted when our schedule and staffing allow.
Rush requests are not guaranteed, and we reserve the ability to decline projects that cannot reasonably be completed within the requested timeframe.
Rush fees apply to accepted rush projects. The applicable fee will depend on the project, timeframe, and availability and will be communicated before rush work proceeds.
Customers should not assume that a rush request has been accepted until the boutique confirms availability and the agreed-upon arrangements.
The fitting process is designed to achieve the best possible fit based on the garment, the customer's preferences, and the condition of the garment.
Please communicate any concerns during your fittings. Changes in weight, body measurements, footwear, undergarments, or personal preferences may affect the fit and may require additional work or expense.
Please disclose fit concerns as early as possible. Requests made after work has been completed may require additional charges and scheduling.
We recommend maintaining consistent measurements, undergarments, and footwear throughout the fitting process whenever possible.
Each fitting is reserved for 1 hour. Please arrive on time and prepared with the necessary shoes and undergarments.
We do not charge a cancellation fee. However, a $50 fee applies to missed appointments/no-shows.
If you need to reschedule, please contact us as early as possible. Rescheduling is subject to availability, and changes may affect the project timeline.
Fittings are scheduled on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Steaming and pressing are separate, à la carte services provided by our sales team for an additional fee. These services are not included in the alterations price unless expressly agreed upon.
Steaming and pressing must be scheduled through the sales team at the front desk.
We recommend arranging pickup of your pressed gown as close to your wedding or wear date as you feel comfortable, while allowing sufficient time for transportation and any final preparations.
Customers who have arranged steaming should confirm the expected completion and pickup timing with the sales team.
At the final fitting, customers should review the completed work and communicate any concerns before the garment is released.
Once alterations are agreed upon, and the garment has begun alterations, the alterations are final and nonrefundable.
Customers will be asked to review and sign an alterations release form acknowledging completion and acceptance of the garment.
Customers are responsible for allowing sufficient time between their final fitting and their event for completion, review, and any necessary scheduling.
We recommend confirming the final fitting and any steaming or pressing arrangements well in advance. If you have a specific pickup deadline, please communicate it to our team as early as possible.
Once the gown has been released, please transport and store it carefully to help preserve the completed alterations.
By proceeding with alterations, the customer acknowledges that they have reviewed and understand the fitting process, pricing expectations, payment schedule, scheduling policies, rush fee policy, applicable consultation or pinning fees, missed appointment fee, and final release and refund policy.
We appreciate the opportunity to be part of your special occasion and thank you for trusting our team with your garment.
